In the northern Willamette Valley winters are wet and hard surfaces can become slick and dangerous. This is especially true when summertime has helped us forget about how slick mossy walkways get. Similarly, driveways can become soiled from parked cars and equipment but are not slippery until the rainy season.

I was sitting here after a day of delivering yard equipment thinking, " I should really trim my bushes but it takes too long". Then I remembered the new hedge trimmer I saw in storage. So, I asked the boss and brought it home. It was like cutting butter.

We all have a tree or two in our yard that never seems to grow where or how we want it to grow.  This past week a customer in Southwest Portland just outside of Beaverton ordered a wood chipper to tackle that very problem.

This weekend I delivered a stump grinder to a new customer in North Portland.  Rob's permaculture designed yard was perfectly managed. Complete with lettuce, basil and chives growing in well kept beds. On the other side of the house a coop held three thoroughly spoiled laying hens

I have had the opportunity to deliver and demonstrate countless equipment rentals to customers that were working on some phase of a tree removal project.  I have not had the opportunity to drop and dispose of a tree from start to finish in a way that left only firewood remaining.  What a great opportunity to spend some first hand time operating the pole saw, chainsaw, wood chipper and stump grinder.
